Fight the Flu with Ready Girl!

Hi Friends!

This week I had the pleasure of visiting PS 88 in Queens to talk about flu prevention tips with my friend from the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, Dr. Jane Zucker!

Dr. Zucker and I talked about the 3 most important flu prevention tips, which are:

  • Be sure to get your flu shot.
  • Be sure to cover your mouth when you cough and sneeze.
  • Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds, or use hand sanitizer.

We also talked about the most common symptoms of the flu, which are:

  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Sore throat
  • Headache
  • Body aches
  • Weakness



Dr. Zucker reminded the students that if you’re not feeling well at a school, be sure to tell a teacher and to visit the nurse. Dr. Zucker also reminded us that if you wake up not feeling well, be sure to tell a grownup and stay home from school if you have any of the symptoms listed above.
