Last week I had the honor of visiting Tiger Scout Pack 255 in Whitestone, Queens. The Tigers and I talked about how important it is to be safe and prepared, and why being prepared helps us be better citizens in our community. As Tiger Scouts, they learn many important life skills. Being ready for emergencies is a skill that will help them as they grow into Wolves and Bears!
Some of the important steps the Tigers and I talked about were:
1. Knowing your address and phone number
2. Knowing your meeting places to go to with your family
3. Knowing when to call 911
The Tiger Scouts set good examples for others in the community. Now that the weather is getting warmer, it is a great time to get out and volunteer! One of my favorite things to do is to help work on our neighborhood garden.
What are some of your favorite things to do to help others?
Peace and service,
P.S.- Don’t you think green looks good on this Tiger Scout?
